3D Modelling Information and research

Character geometry
This character has enough geometry around the elbows, knees and face for the character to have smooth enough movement. Using edge loops will give the these areas more polygons. Having too many polygons with take a lot longer to render and harder to work with, but not enough will cause it to move awkwardly. If the character needed to bend using the stomach area, then it would bend more smoothly if it had more geometry in that area. More polygons are needed in areas where movement is most needed like fingers, elbows, face, neck, knees, stomach and toes.

Topology

Topology is the layout of the model, how the vertices and edges are placed. It is the mathematical study of geometry.

Deforming and Non deforming information

Deforming can be used to model or animate an object. The object is connected to a deformer structure that reshapes and modifies the original geometry.

Non deformed objects are the cube, cylinder and sphere etc.. Object that haven't changed its shape or had a deforming object added to it yet.
